I used this food on my pit up to about 6 months and switched to Bully max which was my own decision. Hill’s is recommended by the vet and I followed the chart on the side of the package and dispersed it between all 3 meals up to 6 months. I feel that this food is based for the general large breed puppy instead of reaching a pits needs. Attached a picture of the puppy that was in this food. No Major complaints but I feel that this is a good diet for puppies.
Puppy loves it and is our pet preferred. There are # science diet puppy available, just watch the kibble size for your puppy size.
My puppy has IBS since she was a baby, we were able to deduce one of the causes to chicken. Then we realized a lot of puppy food have chicken... Sea food alternatives are definitely on the pricier side, so we love this lamb alternative. My puppy loves it, great value for the price!
The rescue recommended this food, so that's what we started with. She ate it for about 6 months. From 2 months old to 8 months. She is pretty high metabolism for a pup that sleeps 18-20 hours a day. She couldn't keep weight on. The vet said it was good for nutrition but I had to bribe her with either cottage cheese or grass fed beef and sweet potatoes mixed in to get her to eat it. We have changed to a different food because it doesn't work for her. But, like I said it was recommended and given a thumbs up by the vet. So maybe it was just us. The new food is significantly more expensive. But my doggo is healthy...sooo...I spend.
It's costly, but can be worth it if the dogs will stay with it for a while. My dogs seem to tire of kibble rather readily. It depends on how finicky, (or hungry!) your dog is. (Obviously, they will always prefer fresh beef steak, or chicken. Lol)
